Questions that matter before the file is trusted.
Direct answers to how the platform works, what it does, and where its limits are.
How accurate is the identification?
Accuracy depends on image quality and what is visible. High-confidence results are produced when the dial, case, crown, and pushers are clearly captured. The system grades every result and will surface refinement prompts when more detail would improve the file.
Is this an official appraisal?
No. Results are identification and value range estimates for research and private record-keeping. They are not certified appraisals, authenticity certificates, or resale guarantees. For formal appraisal, a specialist examination is required.
What happens to my images?
Images are processed for identification and are not sold, shared externally, or used for advertising. The platform is designed around private ownership, not data extraction.
Can I scan multiple watches at once?
Yes. The multi-watch scan mode allows a set of images to be submitted together. Each piece is identified separately and the results can be saved to the portfolio individually.
What if the system is not confident?
The system will say so. A needs-more-detail result is an honest answer, not a failure. The refinement prompt tells you exactly what additional image would most improve the identification — caseback, serial, dial close-up, or clasp.
Can I add notes and documents to a saved watch?
Yes. Each saved portfolio entry supports private notes and document attachments. Service records, purchase receipts, and provenance documents can be linked to the watch file.
What ownership states are available?
Owned, Inherited, Wishlist, Researching, Sold, and Pending Identification. Each state is independent and can be updated at any time as the ownership context changes.
How does the refinement system work?
When a result is likely but not yet high confidence, the system surfaces specific prompts — for example, "a close-up of the caseback would confirm the movement generation." Each additional image is submitted through the same scan interface.
